Maybe, they are not very good for historical research of a serious nature, criticism of literature, philosophical discourse, scientific investigation, but they are relevant for debunking current claims you encounter all over the Internet like this garbage about Obama's birthplace. Do you not think that someone with great credibility would have been able to get at the real facts if President Barack Obama were not born in the United States? McCain, a Bush, Palin, or any of a score of Republican pundits would have discovered something a very long time ago.
