Your agent can/should advertise in the newspaper & hold an open house.
You can offer a financial bonus to the agent/agents who sell your house within a specific period of time, for example: $1000 bonus for signed contract within first 4 weeks -- make sure the word gets out to all the other agents using the MLS.
You can offer something unusual with the house. We sold our house in one week by including a boat in the sale price of the home. Something like that also gets attention (IF it is advertised).
