Vet bills are exactly why we will not have any more pets here. We had 2 dogs and 2 cats when we first came. We have since lost our dogs who both lived long, happy lives. The vet bills here were more for 1 dog than for all 4 pets in Amarillo. Just before the cats turned 10, the vet wanted us to start bringing them in on a semi-annual basis for "wellness checks" to the tune of $200 plus. They are going on 12 now and are healthy and happy without seeing the vet every few months so that I can answer the vet's questions about how whether or not they have any issues with eating, etc. and pay lotsa money on the way out.
