The pertinent question/answer here: Who did this research? Energy Bioscience (Seeking a New World of Renewable Energy, per their website) and the University of Chicago with a $500 million grant from, guess who? BP. Additional monies for this 10 year project is coming from the U.S. Department of Energy and the University of Oklahoma Research Foundation.
