A friend of mine in his early fifty's had this procedure done about three years ago. The surgeon said he might have to come back after a year as he didn't get to all of the area's that needed to be fixed.
A year later he went back and he's been heallty with no episodes of fibbrillation.
I think it's normal for anyone to feel some apprehension when going to surgery. My understanding is the procedure is relatively safe and not too invasive.
My friend went to a doctor who is rated as one of the best in the country doing this procedure and he is very happy with the result.
