Well, one certainly can't argue against the spending part. One look at ANY budget numbers will show an arrow pointing up. For my part, I see the folks around here trying to save money. Heck, my job just got cheaper by having the government hire me directly instead of going through 2 contractors.

But there's a myth about taxes. They've gone down. We're taxed less than just about anywhere in the industrialized world. Now, I grant you it FEELS like more because we're getting nickel and dimed from a lot of different places and many of those (especially at the state level) have raised fees and taxes. But DC? Federal tax rates are down. It's at the state capitals where taxes have gone up. Even here in low-tax NH we had fees go up for everything from car registrations to campground permits.
