I am 100% Irish but took 4 years of German in High School...still remember a little of it. As long as there is an Octoberfest I think this would be a great club to join. When we moved to Raleigh NC in 1992, they didn't have many Irish-Catholics living here. They had a St Patrick's Day parade downtown and since there was only one bagpipe band in the whole area and very few Irish, they had to fill the parade with something. I remember the German oom pah band marching in the St Patrick's Day parade. Having grown up in upstate NY, that was a new one for me in a St Paddy's Day parade !
