The picture on mine was good. Netflix adjusts picture quality according to internet speed. If you get the highest Comcast or DSL internet, it will have a very good picture. I get some stuff in 720p on my Sony player, and I think the Roku does, also.
I paid $100 for the Roku. I paid $149 for the Sony player. For $49 extra I got much more connectivity plus I can watch Blu-Ray dvd's.

Thanks iandwk. I was planning on checking out the Roku in the near future but I think I like the Sony option much better.
