Flew to Tucson for quick trip Labor Day weekend and loved it. I recommend a visit here. Stayed at the Westin La Paloma outside city center on hotel points. Be sure to visit the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, which is 90% outside. Yes it was hot (but cooler than Phoenix), but an escape drive up Mt. Lemmon takes away 20 degrees. It's quite the retirement community too, and I can see why.
