Additionally, the highways would be lit at night via solar energy collected during the day so no need for headlights, and they would be encased in a see-thru material so there is no impact from weather.

Speed would be controlled by the highway operators based on the amount of magnetism expelled from beneath and from the sides of the roadway.

You simply enter your vehicle, punch in your destination on the futuristic gps, sit back and enjoy the ride -- no need to steer or push an accelerator.

I'll leave the problem of air conditioning inside the highway "tubes" to our future engineers.
