All you have to do to open a gate is pull up to any resident gate and wait anywhere from 10 to 30 seconds and the gate will go up without using your card. If it is raining don't put your window down and get wet just pull up and wait 10 to 30 seconds and the gate will go up. If you look at the asphault by the stand where you wave your card you will see cuts in the asphault under where your car would be when your car is over these it will trigger the gate to open.
I never use my card if it is raining and at times when it is very hot and no one is behind me I just wait the 10 seconds. The gate that I use takes 10 seconds to open without using a card. In that 10 seconds at times I can't get to my card and put my window down and wave it so why bother? It will take longer on the guest side but on the residents side it is quicker.
Try it and see how long it takes yours to open.
