No one is suggesting that you stop eating meat, ZCaveman. The point is to find meat that is healthy for you and not poisoning your body and causing a variety of illnesses. We like our Cavemen healthy!

Thank you, Larry and Linda, for attempting to educate folks about the atrocities on factory farms and the tortuous lives our food animals live prior to enduring a frightening and inhumane slaughter. If more people knew what really went on in these factory farms, then I'm sure we humans would not stand for it and things would change for the better.

Use to be that I believed that cows and chickens lived in pastures and in outdoor coops until it was time for slaughter. Things are not like they used to be. Even if our food animals were not pumped full of antibiotics and hormones, the nutrition would still be flawed because they are kept in unimaginable filth, living on top of each other, and never seeing sunlight or touching grass or having one minute of normalcy. How can these poor practices produce food that is healthy?

Do the research yourself . . . and see if you will continue on as before buying the readily available/convenient, pretty packages of steak and chicken in WalMart and grocery stores . . . rather than finding sources of healthy meat.

Watch the video: "Meet Your Meat" narrated by Alec Baldwin. It is easy to find on YouTube, for those of you brave enough to learn the truth.

If you are afraid to watch the above video, then at least watch the move "Food, Inc." which came out this year and is available at Blockbuster in TV. It is less frightening and shields you a bit, and deals quite a bit with how the factory workers are treated.

Or, read the book The China Study which can be a pretty boring book unless you are interested in nutrition and scientific experiments. This book addresses nutrition, and changed my life.

Forgot to mention T. Colin Campbell....
We heard him on the air one nighty and kept waiting for 'the Pitch' - Videos,
programs, supplements...
But no, a book
We immediately read it, bought a wholesale lot through our bike shop, and began selling, loaning, and giving them away.

Nothing but thanks, even from meaty types

Seems liken those that do jerk the knee are those like to eat for fun, taste, and the social aspects

This seems fine, and we realize even moderation should be taken in moderation....;

'some of our best friends' are not plant-based

But that which is best is not that which is advertised nor profitable, so why would it be promoted or advertised??
the best things we can grow ourselves
and minimal processing.

One source said =that which is on the perimeter of the grocery store is refrigerated and real food

that which is on shelves is often less than food

There was an experiment that showed twinkies outlasted the packaging

Another showed more fiber in some cereal boxes than the cereal!!
We thought of cereal after that as something to put the milk on, til we discovered that 'liquid meat' was something we needed to eliminate too.

Speaking of eating out...
Here's a fun one:
