I have read in earlier TOTV links about some bad service from Earth Link.
Let me know what you have experienced & the company that installed your Comcast.

Pat, congrats on moving to The Villages. We just moved in a couple of months ago. We initially installed Comcast cable tv/internet/phone and I have a little input for you.
1. You do not have to go through Earthlink. You go directly to Comcast. Your installation will either be by a Comcast employee or by one of their contractors. If you currently have an Earthlink email address, you can keep that by simply notifying Earthlink that you wish to do so and pay a modest fee.
2. If you wish to have "new" HD boxes and/or HD DVR, you will most likely have to go directly to the Comcast office in Summerfield to get it. The installers generally bring whatever they get from the warehouse. Our first install resulted in 2 old HD boxes and an old DVR. The DVR did not record and one of the HD boxes was dead on arrival.
3. Comcast has a total lock on cable for the Villages and you can tell. They are very nice, but the attitude is take it or leave it.
4. Pay attention to the installer when he is putting in the outside cable box. Make sure he uses one large enough to completely hold all of the cables. Ours used one too small for the number of cables required and just left the open door hanging with cables dangling.
Good luck and welcome.
