Take a bow, folks
On Nov. 29, Talk of The Villages will be four years old.
We always thought Villagers wanted a place to talk, but quite frankly your
level of participation is surprising. I have seen other forums dedicated to
other cites even fail to get off the ground to any great extent.
We hope to keep this forum going as long as Villagers want to talk. We hope
those who have been quiet over the years will keep on visiting and maybe
even enter a post now and then. And we hope those who have been posting
keep at it.
We thank you for your warm acceptance of new members, and we thank you
for staying with us.
Numbers are milestones to many of us, and 15,000 isn't so bad, but there is
more to the story here. It is pleasant to see screen friendships form, and it is
more pleasant to see personal friendships form because of your meeting
here. Over the years we have heard from some people who have been lonely
in The Villages and they told us something sparked when they met people on
Talk of The Villages. They started making in-person friends. That is warming
to the heart. I know I value the friends I made through the forum, both on-
line and in-person.
As we look at the fifteen-thousandth registration in the rear view mirror,
Darrell, Jan and I would like to thank you all for your loyal participation.
You have made this forum. You should all take a bow.
Our hats are off to you!
