Kinda like the Timex watch thing - it's more expensive and not worth the bother to replace the batteries and/or the band when they give out. Just go buy a new watch!

Sames goes for watches, especially if I like the watch. And I like to coordinate my watch with my outfits, which is why I have 15+ watches. I've probably spent more on batteries than I would if I'd bought a realy, really, expensive watch, but I just can't see throwing them away.
