Bagworms
The larvae make sacs and hang on the branches of the trees after they eat some of the leaves. They look like dead leaves and are really hard to pull off. They stick on the eaves and have to be pulled off. They won't come off with the hose or even hitting them with the broom. They really look like part of the plant, but like a dead leaf. My husband put them in the big leaf bags in the garage and the next day, he found some had wiggled out and were on the floor of the garage. Apparently they will drown in a pail of water.
I was just wondering if there was any infestation or if this was a single incident. We have sprayed the ground under the eaves, but don't really know where they came from. There doesn't seem to be any sign of them in the neighbourhood as far as we can tell.
