Remember in Speech 101 when it taught to keep the speech geared to the level of the audience. So maybe the cartoon characters reflect their interpretation of we the people.
Economics is not a popular subject with most people. So if putting a little spin on it that helps gain an audiences attention, then they have succeeded.
How many people are informed at the level of this presentation?
I would guess significantly less than 25%.
