As for your spam.... I have a Hotmail account and I get spammed all the time. Here's how I fixed my spam problem on my "real" Gmail account.
For your email address, use something like
NAME.NUMBER@EMAIL.COM For example:
memason.1234@hotmail.com (This is not my email account, by the way) This completely stopped all spam to my email account.
