I just went through the same pain. After researching this forum and reading some great posts, I made the decision to go with Direct TV for Television and Comcast for high speed internet. Both are beig installed next week. My cost for 1 year is less than $100 for both services. We are not going to have a land line because our cell phones work fine.

If you go with Direct TV, apply online as you'll get the most aggressive pricing. I actually called Direct TV for pricing and after 15 minutes of negotiating, the on line price was still $10 less; and that's not including the $100 referral credit. Also, make sure you select that you have been referred to Direct TV. If you do this, you will receive a $100 credit @ $10/month for 10 months. You'll have to provide a customer number of the person who referred you and that person will also receive $100 credit. This is above and special pricing you receive. If you don't have a person that you can claim as someone who referred you, please PM me and I'll give you my customer number. Again, we both get a $100 credit.

Best of luck with your decision and welcome to TV.
