Red, that deputy must have been a rooky to have made those erroneous statements.
Florida statute 316.2122 allows LSVs to cross those streets legally. In fact, because the posted speed limit on Rolling Acres Road is 35mph, an LSV can legally drive on it, not just cross it.
Of course that statue also allows a county or municipality to prohibit LSV’s from crossing or driving on certain roads for safety reasons, but if that had been done, the signs that say “No golf carts beyond this point” would have been amended to include LSVs.
