Be realistic
I've purchased about 15 homes over my adult life (from age 27 to 55), mostly due to transfers or new jobs, and I have to tell you - there is no perfect house. There are always trade-offs. Even if money is no object, it is impossible.
So, make your list of must-haves, would-like-to-haves, and absolutely-don't-want, and go from there.
I think one reason I was able to buy relatively quickly in TV is that I can quickly see what I DON'T want (because I may have had it in the past and knew it didn't work for me). But that said, everyone is different in these criteria - just try to figure out what works best for you.
