When we had our house pre-wired in the villages, they asked me if I was going to use a bose system. I said no that I was using Polk audio speakers and would install them myself. The designers said, "okay, we won't "daisychain" the wires, we'll put in separate pairs for you. Okay, I said, that's what I want.

The day we walked into our new house, I looked at the wires hanging from the ceiling and it was clear that they had "daisychained" the wires. I pointed it out to the job superintendent and he said, "Oh we thought you were putting in Bose speakers like everybody else. I said "no", and he had the subcontractor come back and pull all of the wires out of the walls, the ceiling and control boxes and put in two pairs as I had originally asked.

I have been working with audio systems all of my life (all of my life) and was not aware that Bose uses a different wiring system. Apparently they do. I guess they run the speakers in series rather than parallel.
