need help using ooma with house phone jacks
After first hearing about Ooma on this site, I researched it and finally got my Telo today. So far I'm not thrilled with the voice quality of the line but I will give it more time.
Right now I am unable to get the system to work through the phone jacks around the house. I'm pretty sure that I have it wired correctly. I did some research where others were advised to to be sure that the house wiring is disconnected from the telephone company at the NIB outside the house. I am wondering if that is the problem since I don't think this house (built in 2005 and sold to us in 2009) was ever connected to a regular phone company at all. I think the previous owners used Comcast which is VOIP, same as Ooma. I used Comcast for phone service last year, but this year I had Comcast just set up the internet and cable without the phone service. So would I have a NIB and if so, where would it be and what should I disconnect?
