Here is yet another suggestion.
I don't think you mentioned if you are receiving your emails through pop3 or browser based. Assuming that it's pop3 and you haven't checked your browser based access, try looking there to see if it is being sent to a spam folder on the browser based access. My wife had some problems and that's where she found the missing emails.
If what I'm suggesting is what happened, you should be able to change the settings so that the message is not being directed to that particular spam folder (as opposed to your pop3 email program) and then you should receive it in your regular method of receiving emails.
Also the suggestion to make sure that your friend has your email address correct is another kind of error I've known to have happened on a few occasions. Also check your own reply to entry on your email account settings. Although remote, that could also be a possibility.
