Best thing is to check with the rental place (or individual if you're renting from an individual). I'd suspect some will have insurance and some won't...........and some that don't have the insurance might tell you they do! You might get a variety of responses/reactions if you ask for some sort of proof of insurance.

You can also check with the company that insures your home and automobiles to see if any of your existing policies covers that type of thing.
