Considering a monthly rental is around $300, I'd say it isn't worth a long-term lease. You can buy a cart in pretty good condition for $3000 and then sell it after a year or two. So, I'd say that doing a long-term lease would be a pretty poor investment.

If you're not sure what type of cart you want, it might be worth renting the carts you're considering for a week or two. You really will know pretty quickly which is the right cart for you.

If the issue is paying up front, The Villages and I'm sure some of the other cart dealers sell on a time basis.
