We bought a resale recently and will only be in TV maybe 3-5 times a year for only a week or two at a time. Such is our life situation at present!!
I feel it's incumbent on us as newbies to the neighborhood to get out and meet our neighbors and keep in contact them whether we're in TV or not. If we just sit on our butts and wait for people to come knocking on our door, we're undoubtedly going to be disappointed.....though a couple of neighbors did stop by to introduce themselves when we were first looking at the house prior to buying.
It is what you make it - making and keeping friends in TV is something that'll probably need to be a somewhat proactive venture. JMHO
