In the April issue of Car and Driver magazine, there's an article called
Domestic Bliss, A Look at what's "Made in America". See p. 20-22. Quite interesting........and revealing as to what is considered to actually be an American vehicle. The article states that for cars built here, 75% (by value) of a vehicle's parts must come from the U.S. or Canada to be considered a domestic vehicle. Less than that and it's not.
I'd scan the article and include it here but I'd probably get taken out back and shot by the administrators - - - and justifiably so since the material is copyrighted.

And unfortunately, I couldn't find the content on Car and Driver's web site.
