If we accept 80,000 as a reasonable estimate of current population, that means that some 24,000 aren't here in the summer. But it also means that some 56,000 are!

My gut says that there are closer to 60,000 here all summer. That said, those who noted easier tee times, lesser restaurant waits, less traffic in summer are right!

Earlier this afternoon I encountered a really, really long back-up headed east out the Sunset Pointe gate on Bailey Trail. Quick guesstimate: 25 vehicles, including cars and carts. Wow!

Traffic on Bailey Trail has multiplied exponentially in my six years. That's because it is really the main drag for all our new neighbors in Pennecamp, Buttonwood, St. Charles, St. James and Tamarind Grove.

Welcome, guys! Just hope you'll stay off the roads when I'm out and about!

When we moved in 6 years ago I could never figure why there was a blinker light (now a stoplight) on St. Charles and Bailey Trail. Now I know why.
