Born, raised and lived on the "northern tundra" until moving here in '09. I'm with you in that 48 in March would have seemed "balmy" up there. Consider though that there is a northern wind and that somehow that seems to make the temps here seem cold. I complained all last winter (our coldest, I was told, in some time) and the northern friends/family didn't want to hear it. Our daughter came down in March last year and I said to her, "NOW, do you see what I meant by that??" She had to agree as we both were bundled and shivering on our cart-ride down to the square. The sun coming out somehow makes it all better though. Grey skies and cold wind...make it NOT a pool-day!!!
