We walk alot year round here, and we like to be where there are people and other interesting things to see. Our favorite places are the boardwalk at Sumter Landing, both of the squares, the main street area in Leesburg, and all of the shopping areas in Spanish Springs along 441. In summer we tend to walk in the morning or early evening, and we don't find the heat oppressive, although I know some people who only walk early morning in the hottest part of the summer.
Other alternatives if you want to walk inside and don't want to drive to the mall in Ocala or in Leesburg (or elsewhere) are to walk in the larger stores, like Walmart, Target, Kohl's, or Sam's - even places like Lowe's. We pick a store where we need to buy something; then we walk first, and afterward do any shopping we need to do there.

Measure your wealth not by the things that you have, but by the things you have for which you wouldn't take money.
The world needs dreamers; the world needs 'do'-ers. But most of all, the world needs dreamers who are do-ers.
