Yes, there was a torrent of water running down my street into the storm drains. From there it goes into retention ponds and the ponds not only provide habitat for wildlife but that water is used in many circumstances to irrigate the golf courses. Most importantly, rain water seeps into the ground where it raises the level of the water in the aquifer. To answer your question the homes and grading/landscaping here are designed to handle the large amounts of rain that we can receive from time to time.
