We pulled up in our cart and saw police cars, etc in the lot and couldn't imagine what happened. The gator was behind some fencing and sadly was shot by a gator trapper. The police said that once they are comfortable around humans they cannot be trusted. I had never seen wildlife being killed and felt bad for the gator
. The police warned the onlookers that he was going to be shot and that children should not be in the area. You could not see it being killed, but sure heard the gunshot. Guess I'll have to buck up if I want to be a Floridian!
