I have a wonderful labrador that goes everywhere with my wife and I -sounds like we would make half of the residents of the Villages mad everytime we would step out out our door.

For me, anyplace that doesn't love dogs cannot be paradise. Glad I read this post before giving serious consideration to a purchase.
Alien, I totally agree with you. Any place that doesn't love dogs cannot be a paradise. That is why TV is great! We bought in The Villages because they allow more than one dog, and they allow large dogs. Many retirement communities only allow one small dog. There are way more people here that love dogs than dislike them. And the dogs love riding in golf carts and going to the dog parks.

This is a very dog friendly community. Almost everyone I know loves animals, and many have multiple pets (with indoor cats, hard for people to complain.)
So have no fear, you can buy here without worries. For the most part, Village People love dogs.
