Does anyone else have a diabetic dog/know of a vet with experience treating diabetes?
As always, thanks so much for your help!

The Vet I prefer is Dr. Porter in Wildwood. I've used Buffalo Ridge and County Oaks and Paws at Laurel Manor and a Mobile Vet. And the Emergency Clinic in Leesburg. But I prefer Dr. Porter.
He recently operated on my 18 year old cat, who had malignant cancer. He got it all, and the cat is back to acting like a kitten. He gained my trust by explaining the operation calmly and telling me he wouldn't do any other surgery on the day of the operation, so he could give my cat his full attention. She was only under the anesthetic for about ten minutes. And his prices are very reasonable compared to Village vets.
(Oh, and by the way, another very expensive Village vet treated the cancer by sending me home with a holistic salve and telling me it would heal itself. After three months wearing a plastic collar, and the wound getting worse and worse, I finally went to Dr. Porter in desperation.)
