Default America is not dying

America is not dying, it is adjusting.

Most of us grew up in a country that had no economic competition on the scale that we face today. Europe was destroyed by World War 2. Japan was destroyed by World War 2. The US and Canada economically were the only game in town. This has changed.

Free trade is a locomotive that won't be stopped. There will come a point where the Indian and Chinese standards of living will rise to a point that it will no longer be a strain on the American standard of living.

Not death, descent to equilibrium.
