Here's my spider story; spiders, like most things that crawl around, scare the absolute whillies out of me. I am truly a phobic!!
Years ago I was in my upstairs bedroom when I saw a horrifyingly huge (defined as any spider big enough for you to be able to see the hair on its legs) spider on the wall. I screamed bloody murder and flew down the steps, screaming for my husband to hurry up there to kill the spider. He raced up the stairs and with a few loud 'whacks' it was all over.
A few days later I could hardly believe it - I saw another huge spider just like the first one in our master bathroom on the wall. Again I screamed and my husband raced upstairs and took care of this beast! Then he turned sheepishly to me and started laughing uncontrollably!! I wondered what could possibly be funny at a terrible moment like that! He said, with tears from laughing running down his face, "Honey, I hate to tell you this, but the other day when you saw that spider I ran up here and looked all around where you said you had seen it, and it was no where to be found. I knew that if you didn't think I'd killed it you wouldn't sleep a wink that night, so I whacked a magazine against the wall so you'd think I'd gotten it!! I figured it might turn up again eventually, but I didn't know what else to do!!"
I wasn't a swearing lady, but that made me swear! Then we both laughed hysterically!!
