Correct. In the spring we need to put in a small bag of treatment due to pollen. Every week it is suggested we put in a cup of muriatic acid. Other than that we do not need to put anything in unless we have a problem such as a very heavy rainfall, 5" or so, and that throws off the balance.
We had Jack's Solar install our system and it took us one year to get to break even with what we saved from having someone else care for the pool.
