Congratulations Tom, I know what a feeling of excitement you must be having; I too didn't learn how to swim until I was an adult. I believed - in fact, I was sure - that I could never learn; had always been able to 'float' but that was all. It mystified me that others could swim but that for some reason my body just couldn't swim. But I had kids and we wanted to have a pool, and I knew that that was insane unless I could, myself, swim (even though my kids could all swim). After I learned to swim (and I'm just an ok swimmer), in later years I took on other mental/emotional challenges and learned that I could survive, even enjoy, roller-coaster and motorcycle rides, bungy-jumped, and learned to belay; other things that I'd never thought that in a million years I could bring myself to do. I hadn't been raised to be much of a physical risk-taker, but learned that fears could be overcome. It's a great lift when you 'change your mind' and overcome a mental block and accomplish something you want to but thought you couldn't; makes it easier to take on other needed or wanted changes. It's amazing how our beliefs control our actions (and lead to inaction). I'm happy for you, Tom!

Measure your wealth not by the things that you have, but by the things you have for which you wouldn't take money.
The world needs dreamers; the world needs 'do'-ers. But most of all, the world needs dreamers who are do-ers.
