Sounds pretty normal to me....
We visited for a couple of hours one day, came back a few days later and told our sales rep to start looking for a new home with the specifics we wanted. Took him a few months, but the house was found. Put our old house on the market and within a week or two, we had interest. House sold quickly and here we are.
Bringing a checkbook when one visits is a very good idea.
