Default Travel well with a cat

Hello Trish,

We have a big cat who is an excellent traveler. We bought a soft carrier for him on the internet that he can stand up in. Didn't want to pay an extra $50 for the same type sold in pet stores. After a few initial meows, he oft to sleep for just about the entire trip. We found that he doesn't have to use his liter box on the way to or from the Villages. And he doesn't want to eat or drink, so we let well enough alone. We travel from Pittsburgh, stopping at Richburg S.C.'s Comfort Inn, coming and going. Our vet gave us anti-nauseous pills, but our cat can do w/o them. Our vet does not recommend tranquilizers. There's a product put out by Feliway that contains phenoromes that comfort the cat. We spray this into his carrier before we leave, and I believe it does its job very well. There's also a Feliway electric plug-in one that we used to use at the motel, and our final destination, but have since stopped using that because our cat has put his own phenoromes on things when he rubs up against furniture, etc. You can also buy the above mentioned products on the internet too for a much lesser price!
