If he wants to play he must be evaluated. That is he must go to 3 Tuesday morning evaluations a Saddlebrook Softball fields. He will be placed at a skill level from 1 to 5. He then has to play in 1 game a year or be reevaluated. Don't be discouraged if you are not rated level one. You can move up a level each season or play for a few games and work the kinks out and get evaluated again. Once evaluated he is eligable to be on a team or to play as a sub at the appropriate skill level. If he is placed on a team he will be expected to be at 70% of the games. So it sounds like he will be a sub. At the evaluation they will tell him the days of play at his level. There are people who have played all their lives and play every day in TV (level 1) and in other FL leagues. There are also people who have not played for a long time and play one or two days a week (level 5). The fall season starts in Sept. For more info go to
