Angie: Dogs are not allowed on the golf courses at any time, even if they are on leash.
Goat73’s Wife: You are allowed to walk your dog on any of the “common” or "public" areas. Those would include the streets, the sidewalks, the strips of grass next to sidewalks that you were talking about and the grassy areas around the pools/rec centers/mailbox areas. As long as you don’t let your dog get onto a homeowner’s lot, you will be fine.
My dogs do their business at home too, but even so, I don’t let them wander onto the property of others during our walks. In most cases, all they want to do is sniff around, but I still won’t let them do it. To me, it is trespassing, no more acceptable than a person walking on someone’s else’s lawn. This can make it difficult to walk them during the hot months, because the street is too hot for their paws if they can’t hop onto grass every so often. During those times, I load them into the golf cart and take them somewhere with shade and/or grassy “common” areas. I think they like the golf cart ride as much, if not more than the walk.
