Dear OCSun, don't trouble yourself about losing the discount. When the next neighborhood opens up, you will have a wider choice of lots and will be able to have the time to make your choices. And there is always some marketing discount going on... They have to keep the sales manager occupied.
It will be fine. I think they told you truthfully that the designers were booked. They are selling a LOT of houses these days.
You will see that this is indeed a friendly place.
