Like many churches, there were more girls then guys. I was the new guy...kinda like "fresh meat". I was much better looking back then, and I seemed to have a lot of attention from many of the young ladies. My future wife on the other hand, seemed to be not too interested. We became friends....but friends only. The other girls told her she was lucky...she told them all, "We're just friends...if you want him, go for it".
Of course, I was a lot dumber back then, and thought I was hot stuff. I also told my future wife that we could be friends, but never anything more....she wasn't "hot" enough for me.
She replied " What makes you think I'd ever WANT to be more then friends...you are too full of yourself and I'm not interested in the least".
I don't know what happened, but a year later we got married in that church, and we've been happily married for 32 years...

Frank, From the photo of you and your wife in your avatar, you both look so young. Are you sure you didn't meet at age 11 and get married a year later?

. Thanks for sharing -- cute story.
