You need a map if you're thinking of the Glenn Beck video, as he was in a golf cart and there's no GPS for cart trails. It's easy to get lost on the trails as a newbie. Usually you just have to sit there with a map in your hand, and in no time, someone will stop and ask if you need help. Believe me, this works.

Make sure your GPS is very up to date and you should be able to find most places in the area in your car. The thing is, The Villages is growing more rapidly than the GPS people can keep up. I was here 2 years before Garmin knew my street existed, and so I had to put the closest location to my house I could find to have a "home destination" entered to find my way home after exploring my Florida surroundings. For me that was the Fire Station on Bonita Blvd in Bonita.

Good Luck!! You'll meet lots of nice people while you're lost here
