You are right, of course. I think we need social welfare programs but they need monitoring so they are not abused. There is too much abuse in all the programs including veterans benefits (still being paid after a vet dies). Not all social welfare needs to be from the Federal or State government but religious or civic organizations can help out greatly.

But let's not get away from the original posting of Bachmann's hipocricay when it comes to government entitlements and her farm subsidies as well as her husband's Federal grants.
