While it isn't a member of Congress, there was a big exposé in the Chicago newspapers a few years ago that the "farmer" who got the most federal subsidies and payments in Illinois the prior year was Scottie Pippen of the Chicago Bulls. Pippen wouldn't respond to the story, but it was determined that his agent got him into some agricultural partnerships wherein he could benefit from the subsidies in a big way.

Does it make you feel any better to know that your tax dollars are going to help some poor family farmers who couldn't make it without them? I think in Pippen's lassdt year with the Bulls be made something like $15 million.
