i am not clear on why we even give farm subsidies? are we paying farmers to NOT grow certain crops in order to keep prices elevated? we should be feeding the world, not causing corn shortages by using up corn making ethanol...i am a conservative but i am certainly not in favor of farm subsidies nor subsidies of most kinds...if someone knows the reasoning behind them, please educate me further....and which party put them in place to begin with? this is a sincere question.
