I don't think the market will be jumping back up there that quickly if you decide to wait a year before buying. My bet would be that there would still be good buys.

Thanks Ohiogirl for the great info and valuable reminder that the market won't be quick to bounce back. I think you are right, but just hope we can sell our place here when the time comes. But that's another worry!
